Canada keeps us on our toes – Wolff
Team principal Toto Wolff says the issues from Canada have handed Mercedes a "wake-up call" even though they won the race.
Lewis Hamilton was the victor in controversial circumstances after Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel was handed a time penalty, meaning their run of winning every race in 2019 continued.
Despite Canada being a big success on paper, the Silver Arrows suffered mechanical problems over the weekend. A fuel system issue saw Valtteri Bottas' first practice session curtailed, while Lewis Hamilton had a hydraulic problem.
"Canada was something of a wake-up call for us," said Wolff, whose team leads the championship by 123 points.
"After a run of very good reliability over the opening six races, we experienced a number of problems over the course of the weekend, almost all of which were of our own making.
"We were fortunate that those reliability issues were exposed when we still had the chance to solve them, but we know that they could have easily ruined our weekend and it is down to the great skill of our mechanics that they didn't."
