Hamilton sets sights even higher for 2020
Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton has fired a warning to his F1 rivals, saying he will be "on another level than ever before" in 2020.
The Briton is the reigning world champion and will be aiming for a fourth successive drivers' title this year after dominating since 2017.
The 35-year-old now has six world titles, just one short of Michael Schumacher's record haul of seven, while he is seven F1 race wins behind the German legend's total of 91, so has a lot to aim for in the upcoming campaign, which gets underway with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 15.
Hamilton has ominously warned the other drivers on the grid he plans to be even better this year as he prepares to drive alongside Valtteri Bottas for the Silver Arrows again.
He said on Instagram he plans to be "a machine this year, on another level than ever before" as he chases further glory.
Meanwhile, Mercedes have said they hope to give their new car for 2020 its first outing on February 14, in private, at Silverstone ahead of the first of two official pre-season tests, with the first set to get underway in Barcelona on February 19.
