Horner delighted with his team

16th April 2018, 12:10 by Nick Harris

Christian Horner was delighted with Red Bull's efforts after Daniel Ricciardo picked up the win in China.

It could have been a one-two for Red Bull had Max Verstappen shown a little more patience in trying to get by Sebastian Vettel, but a collision between the two drivers led to a 10-second time penalty which saw him finish sixth, behind Lewis Hamilton.

Having brought both cars in for fresh tyres during a safety car period both drivers had a significant advantage on the track and, in Riccardo's case, made it pay.

Horner said: "To achieve our first victory of the year here in China was the result of a fantastic team effort. A strong strategy and a great performance by the pit crew, who have done an amazing job all weekend particularly with the engine change on Daniel’s car; and Daniel drove an amazing race and fully deserved victory.

"Speaking of a team effort, any win begins with all of the guys and girls back at the factory and the dedication and hard work there, and that allows us to enjoy moments like this."
