Horner lays down Gasly challenge
Red Bull chief Christian Horner has urged Pierre Gasly to rise to the challenge after winning a promotion from Toro Rosso.
The Frenchman finished 15th in the standings during his first full Formula One campaign after being handed a seat by Toro Rosso.
Gasly collected 29 points courtesy of five top-10 finishes and his performances earned a promotion to Red Bull following the exit of Daniel Ricciardo.
Horner believes Gasly has all the attributes to be a success with the Milton Keynes-based outfit but admits he must prove himself all over again.
"That's what F1 is like. In football if you're not performing, you're sitting on the bench.
"Gasly has shown speed, but of course we have to [instil] discipline a little bit.
"But also, the support from the team is a different one. We're confident that he can do it."
