Hulkenberg expects to stick with Renault
Renault driver Nico Hulkenberg says it is "likely" he will remain with the team for the 2020 Formula 1 season.
The German is out of contract at the end of the campaign and Cyril Abiteboul has suggested the team are weighing up their options before making a decision on who will partner Daniel Ricciardo next term.
However, Hulkenberg remains relaxed over his future and he expects to stick with Renault for next season.
"There's nothing set in stone but I think it's quite likely I'll remain with the team," he said, as reported by Crash.net.
Hulkenberg, 31, is in his third year with Renault and he admits the season so far hasn't lived up to expectations for the team but he is confident they will improve further in the weeks ahead.
He added: "We are not really where we wanted and needed to be, so [we are] behind the expectations this year.
"Probably, all in all, as well not entirely happy if you look across the three years, we can't be entirely happy with what we've done.
"Nevertheless, the outlook is still good, we still see light at the end of the tunnel and we believe we can still catch up to some extent - how much is still is always difficult to say with entire certainty but we will see what happens in the future."
