Marko very confident Verstappen will stay
Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko has indicated Max Verstappen will stay with the team for the 2020 season.
The 21-year-old is currently one of the form drivers on the grid after picking up two wins in the last three races.
He has also finished in the top five in the previous 20 races, earning many plaudits for his brave, aggressive driving style.
There has been speculation his Red Bull contract includes a performance clause that allows him to seek pastures new if the team cannot provide a competitive car.
However, with Verstappen returning to winning form, Marko is confident he is content enough with the team to stay on for another year, with speculation of a switch to Mercedes.
"Max wants to win so he is satisfied and happy when he's winning," Marko told Sky Sports Italy at the Hungaroring.
"But he sees the progress what we are doing and, as it looks, he has to stay with us anyway."
Team principal Christian Horner echoed those sentiments, adding: "Max is very comfortable in the team, we love having him in the team, and the rest is fairly irrelevant."
