Ricciardo feels "normal" at Renault after tough start

21st February 2020, 14:07 by Gareth Freeman

Daniel Ricciardo says in 2019 he didn't want to "create chaos" in pre-season testing with Renault and this year feels "more normal".

Ricciardo linked up with Renault ahead of the last campaign after deciding to leave Red Bull.

The Australian has indicated he had a few issues settling in last year but now feels comfortable in his new surroundings as the teams continue pre-season testing.

He told Autosport: "I think this year feels a lot more normal.

"Last year, just changing teams and trying to also give them as much feedback as possible, but also not create chaos in their brains, I was just trying to balance that and also still trying to build relationships.

"[I wanted to] just be kind of smart with how I relay information and not to just come in and be the loudest guy in the room.

"I think now this year, I would say it compares to Red Bull testing. Last year was a bit of an anomaly. That stood out."
