Lille ace linked to Palace

13th January 2018, 15:01 by Neil Foster

Crystal Palace are holding talks with Ligue 1 outfit Lille about signing versatile defender Ibrahim Amadou, according to reports.

The 24-year-old moved to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in 2015 after two seasons with Nancy and has shone with Lille, making 174 French top-flight appearances to date.

The former France Under-19 ace is a manager's dream as he is able to operate in defence or midfield and his all-round ability has seen a few Premier League clubs take note.

Arsenal have shown an interest over the past 12 months but it is Palace who appear to hold all the aces and, with Scott Dann out for the season due to knee ligament damage, boss Roy Hodgson is looking for winter reinforcements.

Lille have priced their player at £16m but it may well be that a loan deal suits all parties, with the option of an outright purchase in the summer.
