Chicago course set to host 2020 BMW Championship

23rd December 2018, 18:49 by Aidan Perkins

Olympia Fields Country Club has, according to reports, been chosen to host the BMW Championship in 2020, a FedEx Cup Playoff event.

The Chicago Tribune has claimed the Illinois venue, which staged the 2003 US Open, has been picked to host the BMW Championship, which usually takes place at a course in the vicinity the 'Windy City' every other year.

Olympia Fields Country Club is where Jim Furyk won the US Open 15 years ago with a then record-low 272 total, while Bryson DeChambeau won the 2015 US Amateur there.

The 2019 BMW Championship event is also set for Illinois at the Medinah Country Club, the 2012 Ryder Cup venue, between August 15-18 next year.
