Glover left bruised after wife arrested for 'altercation'

16th May 2018, 13:55 by Neil Foster

The wife of former US Open champion Lucas Glover has been charged after an incident in which the golfer injured his hand.

Krista Glover was arrested at the couple's rented Florida home after the 2009 US Open champion failed to make the final round of the Players Championship at Sawgrass.

He made the halfway cut but a third-round 78 saw him jettisoned before the final 18 holes.

On arriving to deal with the incident, police were told by the world number 104 that "every time he plays a bad round of golf, Krista proceeds to start an altercation".

However, Glover said that he received a bruise on his hand when trying to separate his wife from his mother, who were involved in a physical altercation.

A report from St Johns County Sheriff's Office stated that the 38-year-old star told police that: "Krista had been drinking throughout the day and, after playing a bad round of golf, she began yelling at him".

Glover took to social media to try and shed some light on events, posting: "Everyone is fine. Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter."
