Conditions Just Right For Novice Hurdler To Give Weight Away

When he was picked up from an Irish point-to-point at the end of 2017, COOLE WELL looked an interesting recruit for Ben Pauling and this was confirmed when he ran third to Morning Vicar in a Newbury bumper 14 months ago.

After a slightly disappointing subsequent 12 lengths defeat to Sevarano, he had a wind operation and was transferred to Jamie Snowden's Lambourn yard. An unseat, a win and a close second followed and he looks set to try and make all and hold off PEPPAY LE PUGH today.

His conqueror in his last race, On The Slopes, has since been beaten in a photo and the third, West To The Bridge had won his previous race so the form is good. The six-year-old is top on BTO regular and speed ratings and gets three positives, including a trainer/jockey combination (Snowden/Kendrick) at the track that is 41% better than expected. The aforementioned Peppay Le Pugh looks the main danger in receipt of 5lb but Marathon's 6/4 about Coole Well looks enticing.
