Be Gracious At This Time Of Year

Last Time Out Winner Set To Defy Penalty In Sprint

It was just ten days ago at Lingfield that GRACIOUS JOHN opened his all weather account for the season and he bids to repeat the trick in the Betway Sprint Handicap over five furlongs at the Wolverhampton this evening. He is a typically experienced sprinter now, with four wins from 36 outings, and the margins of victoriess for such animals are narrow and can depend so miuch on luck in running but his performance in that last race was as good as he has ever done and he is clearly in good heart. BTOPlus+ places him top on regular and speed ratings and gives him a host of positives as well as best in under four of twelve headings. Trainer David Evans and jockey Fran Berry are a full 165% better than expected here at Wolverhampton, the horse is six from 25 when going left handed over a sprint distance and Berry is 12% better than expected over course and distance. Another last time out winner, DOCTOR SARDONICUS, has a dozen BTO positives next to his name but has never won twice in succession and SHAMSON has real credentials. In a typical all weather sprint handicap the 4/1 offered by William Hill and Bet365 looks almost each way to nothing in an eight horse field.
