BTO Value Selection

15th January 2020, 14:34 by Phill Anderson

All-weather specialist respected back on Fibresand.

With a 20% strike-rate on all-weather, there’s a chance that Red Invader could bounce back to form with several factors in his favour at Southwell this evening.

The 10-year-old’s most recent win came over this course and distance back in May and he finds himself back on a workable rating, just 1lb above his last successful mark.

The son of Red Clubs returned from a 56-day absence with a course effort back in December, but he had excuses that day when finishing last of eight, forced to race wide and doing far too much too soon in the contest.

The drop in trip and a return to the straight course should both be in his favour and it’s worth noting his sire has an impressive 20% strike-rate over the minimum distance.

The BTO top-rated selection is widely available to back at 25/1, and with the yard in good form in recent weeks with two winners and seven placed runners, the gelding looks overpriced in his bid for another success back on an artificial surface.
