Since being raced on the all-weather, RETICENT ANGEL has managed two wins and in each of them has suggested that a longer trip than the minimum five furlongs of those wins would suit her well. She made her debut in August in a novices' event at Nottingham where she was down the field but not disgraced, and then improved over six furlongs at Windsor before a similar effort back at Nottingham. Late October saw the daughter of Dark Angel making her debut at Chelmsford, where she promptly dotted up by a neck from Windy Guest after being hampered at the start. She showed a further bit of improvement at Lingfield three weeks later, being held up by Adam Kirby over the five furlongs before running on really well to get up in a photo from Sandridge Lad. He has been a winner and second since and the third, Shining, had been runner-up in her previous outing, so the form is good. The Angel goes off a 3lbs higher mark today but on form and BTOPlus+ stats for her sire should derive benefit from the extra distance of the six furlongs. ANTONIA CLARA is a distinct second on ratings to her and BELEAGUERMENT is being backed; SP might be advised as Reticent Angel is one of many in the field that is drifting.
