Plenty Of Space For A Winner

13th January 2018, 15:01 by Gerard Lees

Drop In Class To Get Gelding Back To Winning Ways

The then Richard Hannon trained OUTER SPACE made his debut - a winning one - in a Sandown maiden back in August 2013 and followed up with a second in a Group Three at Ascot. Now trained by Jamie Osborne, he runs in a seller at Wolverhampton today and has an outstanding chance of bagging gold. He last ran on Boxing Day when second, beaten a length by Right Action, staying on over seven furlongs. Today's trip is a furlong and a half longer but he gets a tick under BTO's "Sire Distance" (Acclamation) heading and has also run over today's course and distance; in April, 2016, he was third to Jack Of Diamonds after being held up, running on well in the closing stages to be beaten a length. BTOPlus+ has him top of regular and third on speed ratings. He does go better right handed but this is a big drop in class and the extra distance might just help. PIVOTMAN and ACRUX look next best on BTO figures and info' but the 7/4 about Outer Space with a good few of the layers looks fair.
