Quick Returner Set To Create Some Magic At Wolverhampton
Quinn Five-Year-Old Set To Continue Success Story
Since being gelded back in early 2016, SPIRIT OF ZEBEDEE has been a typical handicap sprinter, putting together winning and placed streaks alternated with losing spells, but not usually being beaten too far.
His 2018 campaign hit the buffers, however, and from January to May he ran in seven races with a third the best result and five particularly poor efforts.
He was then sent for wind surgery and reappeared after convalescence at Catterick at the end of August with a better display, beaten just half-dozen lengths. Since then, Zebedee's son has run six times, producing three placed efforts and two wins; his last three outings have been when wearing a visor and read 1,2,1. Significantly, the latest was over today's six furlongs on the all-weather at Lingfield just five days ago when he came home comfortably from Compton Prince off a mark of 49.
As that was an apprentice event, he runs off the same figure this evening. He is top of BTOPlus+'s regular ratings and third on speed and gets four positives. ROLAND ROCKS is a clear second on BTO ratings and has shown hints of form as well as dropping from a rating of 95 in March to tonight's 64; he also wears cheek-pieces. At 13/8, Spirit Of Zebedee looks a worthy favourite.
