Topweight Looks Set To Carry All Before Him In Amateurs' Race
Conditions Ideal For Eight Year Old With Top Rider On Board
Buckingham trainer Stuart Edmunds sends his decent hurdler CLOONACOOL across country to Ludlow in an attempt to win the Tanners Prosecco Handicap Hurdle today and he looks likely to get some Christmas spending money from the venture. The eight year old can take advantage of a falling handicap mark and regain the winning thread, having last won here nearly two years ago in a novice handicap chase. The trainer is in good form at the moment, with a win here on December 6th and this eight-year-old took a step back in the right direction when chasing home Barman at Taunton last time. The gelding's handicap chase win here was off a mark of 135 and he took a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen in September 2015 off 132. Here, he's top weight but running off 122.
The excellent Gina Andrews takes the ride and she has a win ratio of 16% in the last few years. BTOPlus+ has Clonacool top on regular ratings and gives him six positives, including his preference for right handed tracks and proficiency at the distance of two miles. He is fancied to get the better of ASCENDANT, who chasing a four timer, INN THE BULL who is second top rated on BTO and gets four "Best In" ticks and and the unexposed LITTERALE CI who is top on speed ratings, third on regular and who represents top connections. Cloonacool is 2/1 across the board.
