Kameko ready to step up - Balding
Andrew Balding is confident that Kameko will be comfortable with a step up in distance after going close in the Solario Stakes.
The two-year-old won on debut at Sandown in July, beating It's Good To Laugh by half a length in the Martin Densham Memorial EBF Maiden Stakes, before returning to the same venue in August.
Kameko had to settle for second over seven furlongs last time out in the Solario and Balding is now looking at going over a longer distance.
It's understood that the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes over a mile at Newmarket on September 28 is being considered.
Balding said: "I was really pleased with him. He's come out of the race very well and we'll consider the Royal Lodge.
"He's in that, so it will be a consideration. A mile would certainly suit him."
