Sam Spinner set for test
Sam Spinner's handler Jedd O'Keeffe says the five-year-old will be a genuine contender for Cheltenham if he shines at Ascot.
He will be up against Grade One opposition for the first time in the JLT Reve De Sivola Long Walk Hurdle at the weekend after an impressive win at Haydock last month.
O'Keeffe says he will be a genuine contender for the Sun Bets Stayers Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival if he shines on Saturday.
"He's very likeable and very straight forward to train and he's clearly progressive," the North Yorkshire handler told At The Races.
"His novice season was cut short with a minor foot problem so I didn't get as much experience into him as I would have liked.
"I can't see any reason why we won't go. If he did well at Ascot on Saturday, the Stayers' Hurdle would be the target."
