Special Tiara to miss Clarence House Chase
Henry de Bromhead says Special Tiara won't contest the Clarence House Chase at Ascot and will probably head to Leopardstown next.
Trainer De Bromhead is earmarking the new 2m1f Grade Two race on February 3, the Coral Dublin Chase at Leopardstown, rather than running in the usual Clarence House Chase at Ascot in January.
The 10-year-old finished third on his seasonal return to Cheltenham but then failed to complete the Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton on Wednesday.
De Bromhead has now ruled out a January trip to Ascot for his charge and also confirmed the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham is the long-term goal for the season.
De Bromhead told Press Association Sport: "I definitely won't be doing that and coming for Clarence House. There is a possibility I might run him Dublin Chase at Leopardstown in February.
"Hopefully he will go to the Queen Mother as he still seems as good as ever."
