Stradivarius seals third successive Goodwood Cup
Stradivarius has sealed his place in the history books by winning the Goodwood Cup for a third successive time.
The five-year-old went off as the 5/4 favourite and didn't disappoint over the two-mile contest at Goodwood.
It's now eight successive victories for the John Gosden-trained charge and he becomes just the second horse to win the race on three occasions - joining Double Trigger on that mark.
Frankie Dettori, who rode Enable to glory in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes over the weekend, was full of praise for Stradivarius after winning by neck from Dee Ex Bee.
Dettori was patient with his attacking, sitting in the middle of the pack during the first mile, before pressing on to hit the front.
"He's a jockey's dream. He's a bit of a boy, he knows he's good," Dettori said.
"He'll never be flash and win by 10 lengths."
