Tate considering ParisLongchamp for Far Above

14th August 2019, 13:42 by Alex Jack

James Tate has revealed he may yet decide to choose a trip to ParisLongchamp for his talented runner Far Above.

There have been suggestions the Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh could be the next destination for the highly-rated son of Farhh on September 15.

With the choice of a trip to Ireland or France on the cards, Tate has admitted he may opt for a race across the Channel, with Far Above making the step down to five furlongs for the Group Three Qatar Prix du Petit Couvert.

"Far Above has had a mid-summer break," Tate said. "He is in the Flying Five but he is most likely to contest the Prix du Petit Couvert - which is an Abbaye trial.

"I'm keen to drop him back to five because he is just getting faster with each run. We went from seven to six and now we are looking to go from six to five."
