Double injury boost for Barca

19th September 2019, 17:44 by Nick Harris

Barcelona have received a double boost on the injury front ahead of this weekend's La Liga clash with Granada.

World superstar Lionel Messi is back to full training but is not yet up to full fitness after being out of the side with a calf injury. The Argentine is yet to feature in La Liga this season but he played in the midweek draw with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League draw.

He is set to get a run out on Saturday night as he works his way back to full fitness.

Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele has stepped up his comeback and joined in training on Thursday with the rest of the first team squad before continuing his individual programme.

The Frenchman’s return would be another boost for head coach Ernesto Valverde as he looks to get his full squad back up and running after a shaky start to the season, although the reigning Spanish Champions got back on track last weekend with a thumping 5-2 win over Valencia.
