Bale dismisses Los Blancos critics

5th September 2019, 17:57 by Alex Jack

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale says he doesn’t listen to his critics at the Bernabeu and is just focused on impressing manager Zinedine Zidane.

The Wales international looked set to leave the Spanish capital over the summer with a move to the Chinese Super League close before Real pulled the plug.

There were also reports of a return to England, while Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich were linked with the 30-year-old.

Bale and Zidane appear to have resolved their past differences and now the Welshman is just focused on playing well and not listening to outside criticism.

“I don’t listen to them (the critics) because they don’t really know what they are on about,” Bale said.

“I don’t read anything, I don’t listen to anyone.

“I know most people don’t know the situation, don’t understand the situation. What they write means nothing.”
