Midfielder unwilling to answer questions over PSG bid

14th July 2019, 09:40 by Simon Barlow

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has refused to react to speculation over a fresh attempt by Paris Saint-Germain to lure him to France.

The midfielder is currently in Egypt with the Senegal squad that are bidding to win the African Cup of Nations, where he was asked to comment on reports this week that Ligue 1 champions PSG have made another effort to sign him with an opening bid worth around 30m euros.

"I did not read L'Equipe, but people have told me about it," he replied.

"I am fully focused on my competition [AFCON]. We'll have time to talk about it again if it's still there afterwards.

"I can not talk about it now," he replied to a similar question.

"Once again, I am focused on my competition."

Everton are close to pulling off the signing of Fabian Delph from Manchester City and could be covering themselves in case PSG up their bid to a figure too good to refuse.
