PSG lining up bid for Atletico star

15th April 2019, 15:43 by Bobbie Jackson

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has reportedly emerged as a target for big-spending Paris Saint-Germain.

The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the best forwards in world football since making the move to Atletico from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2014.

Atletico paid a fee in the region of 30million euros and have hugely benefitted from his ability in the final third.

He was courted by Barcelona last summer before playing a key role in France's successful World Cup campaign.

It appears interest from the Catalan giants has waned but PSG are now understood to be seriously considering a move.

Reports in France claim Griezmann would only consider the switch if PSG part company with Neymar or Kylian Mbappe.

Griezmann's current deal with Atletico, which runs until June 2023, contains a £200million release clause but that will drop to £129million on July 1.
