PSG secure pre-contract agreement with United star

1st April 2019, 17:37 by Gareth Freeman

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly sign Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera as a free agent when the transfer window reopens.

Herrera will fall out of contract at the end of the season after United opted to activate a one-year extension on his deal last year rather than negotiate fresh terms.

The Old Trafford side had been keen to tie down the midfielder, who has been a key figure since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge, but reports claim the Spaniard has now agreed a pre-contract deal in Paris.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has previously revealed strengthening his options in the middle of the park is a priority as the club failed to sign a replacement for Thiago Motta after his retirement at the end of last season, while it also seems certain Adrien Rabiot will be departing the French capital in the summer.

It now appears the PSG boss has managed to secure one of his top targets before the transfer window has opened by convincing Herrera to make the move to France.
