PSG suspend want away midfielder
PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been suspended by the club due to a breach of discipline but insists “everything is fine”.
The midfielder had been spotted partying in a nightclub just hours after their 3-1 Champions League loss to Manchester United, despite not being in the match-day squad.
It is also thought that the suspension has taken into account the fact he liked a celebration video posted by former French international and Manchester United full back Patrice Evra on social media.
The 23-year-old, who has only played 14 times in all competitions this season and not at all since December, has been seeking a move away from PSG for nearly a year now after growing unhappy at the fact his £55,000 per week salary is significantly lower than some of his team mates.
He has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Manchester United and this latest misdemeanour will surely speed up the process.
Speaking on the incident, PSG sporting director Antero Henrique said: “I find unacceptable the attitude and lack of professionalism of a player like Adrien Rabiot towards the club, his teammates and the fans.
“Remember up to June 30, 2019 he is part of our squad.”
However, Rabiot has dismissed any major concerns, telling InfoSport+: “I am at the club’s disposal. Everything is fine, I am in shape. If I could play I would, but the leaders have decided otherwise.”
