Daniel O'Shaughnessy leaves Cheltenham ahead of return to Finland
Cheltenham have released defender Daniel O'Shaughnessy so that he can return to his native Finland.
The Finland international has reached an agreement with the Robins to terminate the remainder of his contract and he will sign for Finnish champions HJK Helsinki.
O'Shaughnessy joined Cheltenham in July 2016 and made 49 appearances for the Gloucestershire club.
The 23-year-old told the club's official website: "I'd like to thank Cheltenham Town for agreeing to release me to take up this new and exciting opportunity back home in Finland.
"I leave the club with many fond memories and thank my team-mates for their support over the last 18 months and the fans for their continued backing during my time at the Robins. Best of luck for the rest of the season."
Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson said: "We understand Dan's desire to return home to Finland and he leaves with our best wishes and thanks for his efforts during his time at Cheltenham."
