Rivas not on Fury shortlist - Report

15th March 2019, 18:49 by Aidan Perkins

Tyson Fury's next fight is likely to be in Las Vegas but Oscar Rivas will not be his next opponent, reports from Canada say.

The 'lineal' heavyweight champion is working with promoter Frank Warren alongside Top Rank and broadcaster ESPN and talks are underway about a potential Vegas date in June.

After the promotional agreement was announced, Fury decided against his immediate rematch with Deontay Wilder following their controversial draw in December and Canadian-based Colombian Rivas was thought to be on the list of possible candidates for his next bout instead.

However, the Montreal Journal has claimed Rivas is not in the mix to take on the Brit as he will take up a place on the undercard before Fury's next fight.
