Burnley v Fulham

11th January 2019, 14:12 by James Mason

Burnley will be hoping to continue their good run of form when they welcome relegation rivals Fulham to Turf Moor on Saturday.

Having picked up just one victory from 12 Premier League matches, the Clarets have enjoyed an upturn in results and head into the home clash on a three-game winning run.

League victories over West Ham and Huddersfield were followed up with a 1-0 FA Cup third-round success over Barnsley, and Burnley appear to be on the road to recovery.

Sean Dyche's men have climbed out of the relegation zone to 16th position, two points clear of the drop zone, and the manager could welcome back two key defenders for the visit of Fulham.

Matt Lowton and Phil Bardsley are both in contention after recovering from their respective injuries but midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson is a doubt.

Fulham have shown an improvement since Claudio Ranieri took charge, but the Cottagers arrive in Lancashire on a two-game losing run after defeats to Arsenal and Oldham.

Away from home, last season's Championship play-off winners have been dreadful and they are without a victory on the road in their last nine matches in all competitions.

Defender Alfie Mawson remains on the sidelines as he continues to recover from a knee injury, but Zambo Anguissa and Neeskens Kebano could be back in contention.

Fulham's one and only win at Burnley came back in 1951, although the Cottagers did win the reverse fixture earlier in the season, triumphing 4-2 at Craven Cottage.
