Napoli v Arsenal

17th April 2019, 15:31 by Tom Hill

Arsenal will be looking to reach the final four of the Europa League for the second year in a row as they prepare to take on Napoli.

The Gunners failed to get past Atletico Madrid 12 months ago but Unai Emery's men are just one match away from reaching the same stage.

They will take a 2-0 advantage to Naples on Thursday thanks to Aaron Ramsey's early strike and an own goal from Kalidou Koulibaly.

Arsenal have won four of their last five matches but their away form continues to be an issue this season. Emery's troops have won just three of their last 13 matches on the road but the Spaniard has very few injuries to worry about.

Midfielder Granit Xhaka made his return against Watford, while Lucas Torreira is thought to be ready after suffering a slight groin injury.

France striker Alexandre Lacazette was rested during Monday's win over Watford and is expected to start, along with Ainsley Maintland-Niles and Mesut Ozil.

Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti will be without injured pair Raul Albiol and Amadou Diawara, but Arkadiusz Milik may return after being dropped for the first leg last week.

The Italian giants will need to be at their best to advance this week, with Arsenal needing an away goal to make life difficult. However, Napoli's home form in Europe will give them plenty of confidence.

They are unbeaten in Europe this season on home soil and won the last meeting at the Stadio San Paolo 2-0 during the 2013-14 Champions League group stage.
