Watford v Burnley

22nd November 2019, 18:34 by Tom Hill

Watford will be looking win back-to-back games for the first time this season when they host Burnley at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets beat Norwich 2-0 to climb off the bottom of the table before the international break, while the Clarets also tasted victory last time out when they beat West Ham United 3-0 at Turf Moor.

Quique Sanchez Flores' men have shown signs of improvement in their performances of late and have lost just one of their last six games on home soil but they cannot climb out of the bottom three even if they win this weekend.

After three straight defeats, Burnley eased the pressure on manager Sean Dyche with that win over the Clarets.

Dyche's troops sit 10th in the table at present, and a win could lift them up to fifth, should results go their way this weekend.

Dyche, who will face his former club this weekend, will be without winger Johann Gudmundsson. A thigh injury keeps him on the sidelines, while Danny Drinkwater and Matej Vydra are doubts.

Sanchez Flores faces numerous selection issues, with Tom Cleverley, Roberto Pereyra, Domingos Quina, Sebastian Prodl and Danny Welbeck all injured. Christian Kabasele is suspended, while summer signing Ismaila Sarr remains a doubt after suffering an injury while on international duty.

However, club captain Troy Deeney may feature for the first time since August after underdoing knee surgery.
