Arsenal hoping to add South American duo

6th December 2018, 13:50 by Bobbie Jackson

Arsenal are reportedly set to move for Club Brugge forward Wesley and Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega next month.

The Gunners have made a positive start to life under Unai Emery and Wednesday’s 2-2 draw at Manchester United extended their record to 20 games unbeaten across all competitions under the former Paris Saint-Germain boss.

Despite their impressive form, Emery is understood to be lining up some targets for January as he looks to add more depth to his squad.

Reports state that Arsenal are lining up a £15million move for Wesley following his eye-catching form in Belgium.

Following the recent news that Danny Welbeck is unlikely to be offered a new deal, it appears that Wesley could be drafted in as a replacement when the England international leaves in the summer.

Meanwhile, Banega, who played under Emery at Sevilla, is also reportedly on Arsenal’s wishlist as the manager looks to add some creativity to the middle third.
