Arsenal target Saints star
Southampton defender Matt Targett is on Arsenal's radar as they look to add more homegrown talent to their ranks.
The Gunners are on the look-out for a new left-back as Stephan Lichtsteiner is heading for the exit door on a free transfer and Targett has emerged as an option for boss Unai Emery.
The 23-year-old has made 63 appearances for the first-team but has yet to establish himself as a regular and that could bolster Arsenal's chances of striking a deal.
Southampton are unlikely to stand in the player's way if Arsenal make a big enough bid, and it is thought he would fit in with Emery's limited budget this summer.
Arsenal are keen to increase the number of homegrown players before the season gets underway and Targett, who came through the Academy ranks with Saints, would tick a lot of boxes.
One problem for the Gunners could be interest from rival clubs with Liverpool also said to be in the hunt as they look to replace Alberto Moreno.
