Arsenal youngster linked with Bundesliga switch
Arsenal youngster Xavier Amaechi is reportedly a transfer target for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
The 18-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut for the Gunners but has featured regularly in their Under-23 side this season, scoring three goals in nine appearances from midfield.
Amaechi is highly rated by Arsenal and signed his first professional contract at the Emirates Stadium on his 17th birthday, a deal that is not due to expire until the summer of 2022.
The teenager has been likened to current Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, who opted to leave Manchester City in search of regular first-team football in 2017, and has not looked back since.
Sancho is one of a number of English players currently thriving in the Bundesliga, a list which includes Arsenal duo Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe, who are currently on loan at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig respectively.
Those success stories could tempt Amaechi to follow suit, with scouts from Bayern and Dortmund set to watch him in Under-23 action this week.
The interest from Germany could force Arsenal to offer Amaechi improved terms - or they may opt to cash in on a player regarded as one of the hottest prospects in their academy.
