Defender race for Gunners
As the race for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly hots up, Arsenal are said to have fallen behind rivals Tottenham.
Unai Emery is in the market to add to his Gunners squad in the New Year and he has been linked with the Ivorian whose future at Old Trafford appears to be in doubt.
Spurs failed to add a single player to their squad over the summer but they are expected to dip into the market when the window opens in January with their boss Mauricio Pochettino looking for defensive reinforcements as Toby Alderweireld’s future remains up in the air.
The Gunners also have issues at the back and Bailly is being touted as a possible signing, as is Atletico Madrid star Diego Godin who is thought to have a £20m release clause on his current deal and he too is wanted by Manchester United.
