Emery wants double delight in the transfer market
Unai Emery hopes to add two new players to his Arsenal squad before Thursday's transfer deadline.
The Gunners are yet to strengthen their squad this month, but they have been linked with a number of players, most notably Croatia winger Ivan Perisic, who has reportedly handed in a transfer request at Inter Milan.
Barcelona midfielder Danis Suarez, a player Emery knows well from their time together at Sevilla, has also been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Emery has now confirmed that Arsenal are looking to be active in the transfer market over the next few days, although he would not be drawn on any specific targets.
"This transfer [window] is not easy and the message is the club is working on different players and the possibility if it can be is good for us," Emery told reporters.
"We are looking at two different players and the possibility they can come."
One position that Emery is not looking to strengthen in is defence, as he feels he has enough options in that department despite the likes of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Laurent Koscielny, Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding currently being on the sidelines.
"We have enough players, centre-backs in the squad. Only we're having a lot of injuries and a lot in this position," Emery added. "If we can bring another player and when all the players want to play, we can have a lot of trouble in the future."
