Gunners nearing Saliba signing
Arsenal are close to their first major arrival of the summer window with St-Etienne centre-back William Saliba expected to sign.
The Gunners have been forced to battle with their north London rivals Tottenham for the services of the France Under-20 international, who impressed in Ligue 1 last season.
Arsenal are thought to have agreed a five-year deal for the promising defender and fresh reports have suggested Spurs have failed in their hopes of signing Saliba, despite offering a better financial package than their north London rivals.
Saliba will have to wait for his chance in the Arsenal squad though as he is expected to be loaned straight back to St-Etienne to continue his development across the Channel.
The defender is set to cost Arsenal around £27m with add-ons.
