Gunners confirm Koscielny's US tour snub
Arsenal have confirmed captain Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the United States for their pre-season tour.
The 33-year-old former France international has spent the last nine years at the Emirates Stadium, making 353 appearances in all competitions after joining from Lorient in 2010.
However, it was reported earlier this month that Koscielny was looking to secure a move back to his homeland, with Bordeaux believed to be keen on his signature.
It was thought the player's request for the Gunners to release him from his contract 12 months earlier had been rebuffed as the Londoners feel they can pick up 10 million euros for him in this transfer window.
As a result it now appears Koscielny has looked to take matters into his own hands by staying at home as Unai Emery's squad fly out to the US to continue their preparations ahead of the new Premier League season.
A club statement read: "Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the US for our pre-season tour. We are very disappointed by Laurent's actions, which are against our clear instructions.
"We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time."
