Pepe deal too much for Gunners
Arsenal look set to be priced out of a move for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe, who could cost as much as £68million.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who is sure to be in demand this summer, but the kind of money Lille will be looking for could rule them out.
The president of the French club, Gerard Lopez, has revealed they will not stand in the winger's way should a big enough offer come in, and it remains to be seen if Arsenal could match it.
An unnamed club in China failed with an €80million (£68.7m) bid and chances are Arsenal will not be able to spend that on one player in the summer.
"That does not just depend on the club. It also depends on the player," Lopez revealed. "He deserves to play at the highest level. We have offers yes.
"In England, there are clubs. We have had offers worth €50m. We will not sell for less, we have even refused a €50m bid.
"We had an offer from China worth €80m with an astronomical salary, but he didn’t want to go."
