Perisic dropped by Inter over Gunners link

27th January 2019, 14:27 by Craig Smithson

Arsenal target Ivan Perisic has been dropped by Inter Milan for the game at Torino as reports say he is "distracted" about his future.

The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium with reports earlier this weekend suggesting he could secure a move to link up with Unai Emery's side in a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer before Thursday's deadline.

Perisic, who has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United when Jose Mourinho was in charge in summer 2017, is thought to be keen to test himself in England and would be open to a move.

The Croatia international is just 18 months into a five-year contract at the San Siro, but it now looks highly likely that he will be linking up with the Gunners.

Reports in Italy claim Perisic has submitted a transfer request in an effort to get the move pushed through and that prompted Inter boss Luciano Spalletti to take him out of his first-team plans for the Serie A trip to Torino on Sunday evening.
