Ramsey set to return before season ends

20th April 2019, 08:37 by Nick Harris

Aaron Ramsey could return before the season ends and may not have played his last game for the club after all.

Ramsey, who is leaving the Gunners in the summer to join Juventus, picked up a hamstring problem in the Europa League victory over Napoli and it was widely thought he would be out for the remainder of the season.

Now boss Unai Emery says that is not certain to be the case and the Welsh international could be back in time to face Valencia in the Europa League semi-finals on May 2 and 9, with the final in Baku on 29 May.

"I don't know how long it will take him out of the team, but maybe two or three weeks," said Emery.

Ramsey had feared his Arsenal career had effectively come to an end but the club's medical team have reportedly assured him that he will return before the end of the season.
