Villa to miss out on Leeds ace
Aston Villa have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Kalvin Phillips with Leeds United claiming he will be staying put this summer.
Villa boss Dean Smith has been keen on Phillips all summer but the two clubs have failed to agree a fee for the tough-tackling midfielder.
Phillips was one of Leeds' star performers last season as they reached the Championship play-offs but Villa are refusing to pay the £30million asking price.
The 23-year-old is currently in talks over a new deal at Elland Road as Leeds try to fend off any interest from Premier League clubs.
Leeds' director of football Victor Orta has now claimed he will be going nowhere, handing Villa a transfer blow.
He told Leeds Live: "It's not a negotiation. He is a Leeds United player and will be a Leeds United player for the season 19/20. Leeds United want Kalvin Phillips to stay next year 100 per cent."
