Cherries defender inspired by family
Bournemouth’s record appearance maker Steve Cook says he is inspired by his family to keep himself playing at the highest level.
The 27-year-old has not missed a minute of Premier League action this season and has no intention of doing so.
He is spurred on by his family to keep going and maintain performances at the very top level in order to share the experience with his sons, which he did recently when walking out with both Frey and Edan to skipper the Cherries against Leicester.
Cook told the Daily Echo: “It’s why I play football – to give them moments like that. Becoming a dad a few years ago really changed my mindset on everything. I try to give everything for them and my team.
“Before a game they are my thoughts. My family are what inspires me to go and do well. That is where I am at right now.
“I am quite an emotional guy, quite a passionate man so my kids, my wife, my family and my team-mates are what drives me.”
