Defoe deal not finalised - Howe
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has refused to reveal details of Jermain Defoe's proposed move to Rangers because nothing is finalised.
Former England international Defoe has struggled for playing time this season, having amassed just 21 Premier League minutes, and his time at the Vitality Stadium looks like it will end this month.
Reports on Thursday claimed the 36-year-old is close to joining Rangers on an 18-month loan deal, which would take him to the end of his Cherries deal when the temporary move finishes.
However, when asked about the striker's situation, Howe refused to go into too much detail although he did confirm any deal is yet to be completed.
"I'm not going to talk you through any details because no deal has been finalised, so until that moment happens it would be foolish of me to comment, so let's wait and see what happens in the next few days," he said at a press conference on Friday morning. "Any deal that does get agreed will be in the player's best interests and what the player wants to pursue.
"From our side I've said from day one I've loved working with Jermain, I've really enjoyed the relationship we've had and how professional he's been for the team and for the group of players we have, but as I say no deal has been finalised, so let's see what happens."
