Howe eyeing a bit of luck for Cherries

26th November 2018, 14:59 by Alex Jack

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has questioned his team's luck after Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.

The Cherries have suffered three defeats in a row, having lost to Manchester United and Newcastle United before the latest setback at home to the Gunners.

Howe believes there has been fine margins that have decided their recent games and feels luck is just not quite on their side after the Arsenal game, as they now look ahead to Saturday's tough trip to Premier League champions Manchester City.

"We’re disappointed with it. We felt we were in the game (against Arsenal) all the way through and were on the wrong end of some decisions. In a game like this, you need every bit of luck you can find," he told the club's official website.

"Jefferson Lerma’s shot hit the post, so it’s fine margins between getting something out of the game and getting nothing. The players gave everything to the match but it wasn’t to be."

Howe added: "We started the game brightly and had good moments, but Arsenal came back into it. Their first goal was bizarre but that’s the luck that was against us."
