Howe happy for two-goal Wilson
Eddie Howe was pleased with Bournemouth's 3-2 pre-season victory over AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday, as Callum Wilson bagged two goals.
The Cherries are working hard towards the start of the new campaign and took on the south Londoners in Malaga as part of their preparations for the big kick off against Sheffield United on August 10.
Wilson netted twice while Ryan Fraser also got on the score sheet in Spain, with Michael Folivi and Joe Pigott netting spot kicks for the Dons after the break.
Howe felt it was a worthwhile exercise for his charges and was glad that nobody picked up an injury.
"It was a good game, a physical game. I think we knew we were going to get that from Wimbledon," he told told afcbTV.
"I thought we had some good bits in both halves, some stuff we need to work on and improve but pleased that most of the lads seem to have come through with no ill effects."
Wilson scored 14 top-flight goals last term and seemed to pick up where he left off, leaving Howe happy that his main man appears in the zone.
"I think it's important, even though it's pre-season, that the strikers score and attacking players create, so really good for Callum to get his two goals," he added. "I think he'll be delighted with that.
"So it's a good start for him and the team in the first half, we looked strong and played some good stuff at times."
