Howe wants to repeat La Manga success
Eddie Howe is looking forward to taking his Bournemouth squad back to La Manga this week following their success last summer.
Howe took his squad to the Spanish resort for the first time 12 months ago and it appeared to have the desired effect, as the Cherries went on to make their best-ever start to a Premier League campaign, taking 20 points from their opening 10 games.
Bournemouth will once again head to La Manga this week and Howe is hoping the trip can prove just a successful this time around.
"We had a really good time at La Manga Club last summer and we worked incredibly hard," Howe was quoted as saying by the Daily Echo.
"The facilities were brilliant, the people were excellent and everything there. We felt it really did help us. It enabled us to get off to a great start to the season."
The Cherries will arrive in La Manga on Wednesday evening and they are hoping to arrange a friendly during their stay, before they head off to Barcelona to take on Girona on July 20.
Howe believes the trip will also give him a chance to impart his philosophy on the squad ahead the new season, something that will be particularly important for the new arrivals at the Vitality Stadium.
"The aim is to improve the team ahead of the start of the season and we're really excited to be back," Howe added. "It's a great part of the season as a coach as we emphasise our philosophy and how we want the players to play this season."
