Lerma hailed by Cherries team-mate
Nathan Ake has hailed the impact Jefferson Lerma has made at Bournemouth and believes he will get even better.
Colombia international Lerma arrived from La Liga outfit Valencia last summer in a deal worth £25million and, despite not speaking a word of English at the time, has settled in very well.
Even more will be expected of him in the new campaign, and Ake says his team-mate will have no problems raising the bar.
"I think he's done very, very well. I think in every game he's always showing his energy, his work-rate and the will to win," he said.
"Even though he can't speak English, he's always trying to help people, he's always happy around the club and he's been fantastic this season.
"He's an energetic player anyway so he adapted very quickly to the Premier League I think."
Ake moved into midfield for a spell last season to help cover for injuries and says he enjoyed it alongside Lerma.
"I hadn't played there (midfield) in a long time, but I enjoyed it. It's good for me to learn different positions and to see what I can do better," he added.
"I think Jefferson always shows a lot of determination. He works so hard. It's good to play with him. It was something new for me again."
